Well oddly enough you can!

George's Prestige Detailing has worked with the Bathurst Light car club to bring back this historic and fun event.
The event is on Sunday the 14th September 2025, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.
Here are some frequently asked questions:
Do I need to have a super fast car?
Absolutely not, you just have to have a car in good roadworthy condition, long sleeves, pants, and a current helmet, that's it!
Is it expensive?
No, it's a bargain in every sense of the word, imaging the fine and danger you would put yourself in if you tried this on a public road, well no for under $200 you get to live every car enthusiast bucket list dream, in the safety of a clear track, rules and officials.
Ok surely I need a special license?
Yes, but don't freak out, it's an easy process to get it, the evening before the event!! (and relatively cheap too)
You simply turn up the evening before the event at Bathurst and there will be a setup where you can get you "Day" license.
This will be between 5:00pm and 8:00pm on Saturday evening at Bathurst (most likely at the Bathurst Light Car Club, Club House)
What if I want an annual Motorsport Australia License?
If you have the bug, and may want to do some cool track days either before or after this event then it's worth getting an annual L2S License.
You can use it to enter all these other cool track days and supersprints for the next 12 months, so think of it as a gateway to more fun events driving your car.
To be eligible for a Motorsport Australia Licence, you will need to be a member with an affiliated car club. You can find a comprehensive list of clubs near you at motorsport.org.au/clubs. You may already be a member of one of these clubs, if not, you really are missing out on a whole bunch of legal fun!
Here are the details, go to the Motorsports Australia link and apply for an L2S license
Is it dangerous?
Crossing the street is dangerous, but this is one of the safest way to do something like this, no traffic/clear track, professionally organised event, clear track, run by professionals, and medical team on site.
So what are the steps to enter?
Follow these steps, in this order-
1/ Enter the Flying fifth even with the Bathurst Light Car Club
OPTION A (EASY)
If you just want a day License for this event only then you make sure you turn up the evening before the event (Saturday 13th September, between 5:00pm and 8:00pm and get a day license just for this event, EASY!)
You're ready!!
OR
OPTION B (HARDER but you get an Annual License)
1/ If not already a member, join a Motorsports Australia affiliated club see here motorsport.org.au/clubs
2/ Get your L2S (Level 2 Speed) license with Motorsport Australia https://motorsport.org.au/wpblob0fe832abcb/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/25Motorsport-Australia_Licence-ApplicationRenewal_Speed.pdf
